The ventilator has been removed and we are all so thankful. Ron said he can swallow better now! He continues to get in the neurochair daily and sit up on the side of the bed. Thank you Johnny for taking Ron for a ride around the hospital. He enoyed looking outside and seeing other scenery besides his hospital room. Keep praying for feeling and movement in his extremities and that God will give Ron strength and endurance as he deals with this illness.

Ron is off the vent from 5:30 am to 10:30 pm every day. Trying to breathe on his on is like running a marathon. He has been able to sit up in a Neuro Chair 30 minutes to 1 hour per day. Ron is eating small portions of food during the day but he finds this also exhausting! Guillian Barre has truly taken a toll on Ron's body. He is still unable to move his arms, hands, fingers, legs and feet. We know Ron is making progress but please continue to pray daily for his strength and endurance during this difficult time.

Ron has been doing pretty good. Still working on weaning off of the ventilator. Yesterday, he got to enjoy pudding and grape juice, so we know he can swallow. He is making improvement, day by day. What is remarkable is that he is able to breath on his own with the trach capped off, meaning he is breathing through his own mouth and nose...... this is actually harder than breathing through the trach down lower! Yea! Keep up the prayers God is answering!
Wednesday, October 17, 2007HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU, HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR RONNIE (DADDY!), HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU! Today is Ron's birthday. He is still working on getting off the ventilator.... I bet we know what his birthday wish is! We know it will come true!
