Benefits of Vinyl Flooring
Vinyl flooring in Dubai
has a long and rich history. It was originally designed as an alternative to wood-based flooring. As the popularity of vinyl grew, vinyl flooring became more affordable and was quickly embraced by homeowners looking for a simple, low-maintenance floor covering. Vinyl floor coverings are now found in homes and businesses both old and new and are replacing many traditional floor coverings such as carpeting, linoleum, and tile.
1.
Sheet vinyl flooring is vinyl flooring which comes in continuous, large, flat sheets. These sheets are easy to install and remove, but not so easy to replace as with tile or wood flooring.
2.
A vinyl-flooring tile is waterproof to a certain degree; however, vinyl floors are no more or less durable than wood, it comes with
antimicrobial coating
, linoleum, or tile in terms of water-resistance.
3.
Also, a vinyl-flooring tile is not entirely impermeable to water; however, vinyl floors do have a much higher water-resistance than flooring made from a mixture of materials.
4.
Vinyl flooring comes in two main types, namely, solid and floating. A vinyl-flooring tile is either made up of one solid sheet or is made up of several small pieces glued together. Floats are those tiled with small plastic beads or other particles.
5.
Vinyl floating floors are much easier to clean than tiled floors, as particles can be easily mopped up or wiped up. But, all main types of vinyl flooring are not durable enough to withstand heavy foot traffic, thus should only be used on light-coloured rooms.
6.
Apart from water-resistance and wear layer, vinyl flooring should also be durable against ultraviolet rays. Vinyl flooring can have a variety of colors and thus will give your room an attractive appearance. However, it can also be susceptible to fading with the passage of time.
7.
There are also a number of floorings made of vinyl that can be coated with various coatings that can help to reduce fading effects. However, all vinyl flooring still has a specific wear layer and are therefore not truly durable.
8.
Apart from this, most vinyl flooring is fairly easy to clean, but still you can see some differences in terms of durability. Usually, a good-quality flooring tile will have its own water-resistance, and durability, but not always in all samples. As a rule, if you want true-to-life, long-lasting vinyl flooring, it is best to select a flooring type that has excellent water-resistance, durable wear layer, and good-quality coating. However, you can also choose a floor with lower water-resistance and durability, but at a higher price.
