I guess I'll start with....her father is gettingbetter atbeing there for her. And your right--it's not just about the money for me; and no I don't think he's an a-hole. She wants his attention and he's getting better. Other than that, I think I'm in a long-distance relationship with a friend I recently reconnected with. It's been a long time since I've felt this good. I can't wait for my daughter to meet him and his daughter. He is a single father, raising his 10 y.o. daughter. I like the fact that we are getting re-familiar with each other first!!! I do have some reservations but my happiness is long overdue. We'll see how this thing goes. Oh...and he loves the Lord as much as I do.....(and that is a major plus for me).
Well I need to try to post way more often. Well...it's a new beginning! Tracee didn't go to Mid Winter Recess (in Dallas, Tx) as her father did not come thru and he promised. As a matter fact, no one has heard from him since he promised the money by Dec. 15th (2009); it's now Jan 5th, and he has contact her at all...NOTHING! He's a piece of work!!
It is 8:00 a.m. on the nose! Of course, Tracee is still sleeping. She is going to Washington, DC today with the church. I along with Mikki and Mom set money aside so Tracee would have some spending money; they will be in D.C. untl the 30th (mom's B-day). Everybody else isn't leaving until tomorrow, but Rennat, Dorothy, and Tracee are leaving out today (tickets were much cheaper if they flew out today). So, their flight is at 2:16 p.m., which means I have to have her out to the airport at noon. I will sit and wait with them while they wait for their flight, then I will make my rounds to everybody's houses. Other than that, and the fact that it's our heavenly father's birthday, today is just another date on the calendar for me! I stopped getting excited about this day over 20 something years ago. But I do enjoy when families come together. I will most like be stoppingover on Beecher St, Hartson Aveand two spots on MidlandAve before I make it back home. And before I close this I have to remember for next year thatX-mas Eve is Ramsi's b-day. Moe should be delivering her baby girl any day now--she was looking mighty uncomfortable yesterday. Well, I am going to go give dad a call, and then I dread the call to Mikki's house (Vernell will no doubt answer the phone....ugh!!) Just kidding Vee!!!
Its been almost a year since I last posted here. I have been really busy, concentrating on my classes! But, I am done now!!!!!! I graduate tomorrow!!!! Really excited about that and hope to find work fairly soon.
Other than that....awful lot has happened that I would like to document here, like....history has been made! We now have our first African American President, Barack Obama!! Pastor is working on getting my daughter's school to include her in on the trip with the chorus to the inauguration in D.C., January 20th, 2009. It's a big deal and he wants her to experience this historical event.
A couple of other things have happened which I will not mention because it has come to my attention that certain people are reading my journal....and they don't need to know anything about some things!
Oh yeah, I have, since the last time I posted, Mikki and Vernell got marriedon May 17th, the wedding itself turned out nice, yet prior to the wedding, of course there was some DRA-MA!!Sis. Cynthia S. moved over to become thePresident of the Senior Ushers, and referred me,and I havebeen appointed as Junior Usher Advisor atthe church (myself and Donna C.) Our Pastoralso requested andappointed me as Class Leader #11 for New Members....wow! It's all good though because...it's time! It's time thatI have a relationship with God, and not just be "a member" of the church. To be honest, I am struggling a little with it because it is so easy to slip back into those old ways. Also, Sis. Jackie Y., who is thePastor'sassistant (right-hand person)is looking for assistance with her work in the church, as she is very overloaded, and maybe looking for me to assist her; Assistant to the Assistant!! Anyway.....
Other than that, I a really working on making some changes for myself and my daughter....and hopefully great things are in store for us both in the near future.
Aww Maan!! The funk coming out of that room in the morning when he opens the bedroom door (and leaves it open) is HORRIBLE!!! Every time he comes out he leaves the door wide open, and I go right behind him and close it. He has to notice that the door is closed again when he comes back!! I'm hoping he will get the hint....but he doesn't. Then I go and light an incent in the hallway....he still don't get it! Then I notice that he'sdressed and out the door with clean clothes on, and I never ever heard any water running in the bathroom!! Now, he was out yesterday mowing lawns and it was hot as hell yesterday. Never hear him in the bathroom brushing his teeth!! Dayum, and this dude has a wife too.
Dee, we will never forget how much you have touched our lives (your nephew & niece especially). Your "big ole smile" is embedded in our memory forever! We will see you, Toni, Grandma Emily and Grandma Lela soon.....R.I.P.
